Karachi reached the 42nd spot on the second day of the Air Quality Index. Last day, Karachi was the 27th most polluted city in the world.
Environmentalists say transport closures and limited industrial activities in Karachi are the main cause of the reduction in air pollution.
Air quality was extremely unhealthy in November 2019 in Karachi and the air pollution rate was 227 but now Karachi air quality has come down to moderate levels several months later.
Islamabad's air quality is much better than Karachi and Lahore, Islamabad's air pollution rate is only 43 percent.
It is thought that the Corona virus has killed seven people in Pakistan so far while the total number of affected people has exceeded 900. Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit and Islamabad have been locked down in this situation.
